We Invest In Our Educators
Univers Certified Employee Benefits Counselors
There is no better way to enhance knowledge than through a one-on-one conversation with a skilled benefits counselor. Univers Certified℠ professional benefit counselors provide employees with the information they need to make informed decisions.
The Univers Counselor Development Model
We invest heavily in benefits counselor recruitment, training and proprietary certification programs – which ultimately results in outstanding experiences for our clients and their employees.
All of our benefit counselors are required to become Univers Certified℠ before they begin to work one-on-one with clients. As the industry’s first and foremost certification program, becoming Univers Certified℠ involves intensive web-based training and testing for each counselor. Recertification is required regularly, and before any benefits counselor is assigned to a case, additional client-specific benefits and corporate culture training and testing occurs.
One-on-one attention and support from managers is also key to developing quality benefit counselors. With a counselor to manager ratio of 15 to 1, our benefit counselors have the advantage of manager support in the enrollment center when they need it most. With the support of their managers and leadership, counselors are also encouraged to participate in any of the year-round, ongoing professional development programs we offer as a company. These programs include learning series seminars, remote learning tools and annual recertification classes.
Throughout training and beyond, our clients remain the focus and top priority. To ensure each client is pleased with the services rendered by our benefit counselors, we conduct extensive quality metrics evaluations throughout each stage of the benefits enrollment process.
The results speak for themselves – employers that work with Univers Certified ℠ benefit counselors report a substantial increase in benefits enrollment with a higher level of employee satisfaction.
“The single biggest differentiator for education and enrollment services is the people involved. Specifically, the investment in our benefits counselor model has caused competitors to take notice. We believe that a counselor’s ability to effectively educate employees must be continually developed and updated. This is especially critical now – a time when varying levels of enrollment advocacy are needed within every organization.”
